You don’t need a bigger funnel. You need a bigger game.

Not more leads Not a sharper pitch Not a fuller calendar A piece of the outcome

The Stand
The market is saturated with coaches.
Most of them are good.
Talent is the least scarce thing in this business.

What is collapsing is the appetite to pay for the means.

Nobody wants coaching. They want a problem gone. An opportunity taken. A relationship repaired. More of what they're capable of. Coaching is the vehicle. The vehicle was never the thing.

Which means your craft will not save you. Neither will your sales skill. Both are improvements to the means, sold into a market that has stopped paying for means.

And it makes most of the coaching-education industry a vendor of a better horse.

The ICF and every body like it certify your craft. The gurus teach you to sell it. Fill the funnel, sharpen the pitch, book the call. Means-side upgrades, both of them, sold at the exact moment the means stopped being the product.

They will keep selling them. It's what they have to sell.

And understand what a credential actually is. It's a promise that the buyer cares. In thirty years across the table from founders, not one has asked me what I'm certified in.

There will always be plenty of coaches. Coaches will always find people to coach.

They just won't make any money.

Why Now
I am not warning you from the sidelines.
I am building the thing that ends it.

The technology is getting good. Two things happen at once, and they kill the means from both ends.

Craft gets commoditized. The tools coming will level up every coach alive. Ten years and tens of thousands of dollars of skill, arriving as a subscription. When everyone's coaching is good, the quality of your coaching stops being a difference.

Coaching gets skipped. In a lot of cases the tools will let a person do it without a coach at all.

What survives is the outcome. An outcome cannot be commoditized and it cannot be skipped. It either happened or it didn't.

I build these tools. I sell them to coaches. And I am telling you they will not save you.

I'm actively engaged in blowing up the bridge I'm standing on.

$35–40K
Safe. You haven't started living above your means yet.
$100–300K
The most dangerous place to be. Enough to build a life on. Not enough to survive what's coming.
$500K–$1M
A fine place to sit, because you will have figured something out.

If $100K a year satisfies you, that's a good life. With some luck and a lot of work you can join the four or five percent of coaches who ever clear it.

If you're earning $200–300K today, be prepared to adjust your lifestyle. You will not command those rates for the same services in two or three years.

03
The Other Side
Coaching is a means.
Nobody buys means.

Get paid for the end, not the means.

Attach yourself to people creating outcomes big enough to share. Founders, builders, the ones with their name on the personal guarantee. Then earn a real piece of what gets made.

A seven-figure practice comes from creating eight-, nine-, and ten-figure outcomes for the people you work with. The math only works one way.

Every coach I talk to says the same thing when I put this in front of them. I can't get into those rooms.

It's never the rooms.

The rooms have doors and the doors are not locked. What's locked is the part of you that decided those people wouldn't want you. I have never met a coach who was actually kept out. I have met a lot of coaches who kept themselves out and called it access.

That's the work. Not the deal structure.

The structure is downstream of a decision you haven't made yet.

Exits

I've sat on every side of the table. Founder, operator, seller, the one who stayed too long, the one who let go too soon.

In January 2023 my mother was diagnosed at stage four. The question I sat with after that was not about business. What do I want life to look like when I have ten years left to live?

I sat with it every day until August. Then it landed. Four to six founders, working on their second and third companies together. Four or five coaches, served for fifteen or twenty years.

And this: I'm going to take a piece of the outcome. Why else wouldn't I do that?

Everything I teach now comes out of that afternoon.

The Book
The whole argument is a book.

Stop Selling Coaching is the case, the economics, the inside game, and the first moves. It's short on purpose. One sitting.

No system. No steps. No promise it works out before you take the first step.

Fair warning: the first chapter is me trying to get rid of you. If your calendar link is already filling your practice with people who light you up and a bank account that's enough, close the tab. Keep doing what works, with my blessing.

But if you've done all the things and you're nowhere near what you know in your bones you're capable of, that heat isn't an accident. It's information.

Two More Doors
If it lands, tell me.

I read everything that comes in. I answer most of it.

Send me a message

And if you want the work without the ask, get on the list. I write to nearly a thousand coaches about what I'm finding, as I find it. No funnel, no sequence, no pitch.

    No spam. Unsubscribe any time.

The game you're playing has a ceiling. You can feel it.
The only question is whether you go looking for the other one.
